Sketch to Image was one of the most entertaining Galaxy AI features Samsung released last year, and it's getting some nifty upgrades through One UI 7.
We tested the updated Sketch to Image on the Galaxy S25 Ultra at Unpacked. Several additions will enhance the creative process by giving users more options and ways to control the outcome.
The tool's more advanced multimodal capabilities in One UI 7 didn't take us by surprise, given Samsung's press release last week. In short, Samsung revealed that Sketch to Image AI (also known as Drawing Assist) now supports instructions through text and voice commands.
However, there's one more element we want to touch on — one that Samsung didn't mention last week.
In the Galaxy AI settings screen for the Galaxy S25, Samsung added a new slider that controls how involved and ‘aggressive' the Sketch to Image AI should be when interpreting your drawings.

If you ever felt like the AI engine powering Sketch to Image was changing your original sketches a little too much and overcorrecting your drawings, this new feature will come in handy. The new “Sketch matching strength” slider has four levels, going from “Low” to “High.”
At the lowest level, the AI will try to stay closer to your original vision when generating renders, even if it means it will generate a drawing that's a little crooked or has other imperfections.
Conversely, at the highest “Sketch matching strength” level, the AI has more free reign to interpret and correct your sketch.
The way we see it, there's no right or wrong way to set this new slider for Sketch to Image. It all depends on how you want the AI to render your art.
Ideally, renders created with the slider set to the lowest level will retain a more noticeable human touch, and the highest level will allow the AI to change more aspects of the original sketch while still maintaining the core idea behind it.
