Google has been slowly but consistently adding Extensions for various applications and services to the Gemini app for Android, enabling it to help you with a wider array of tasks. Well, on the Galaxy S25 with One UI 7, Gemini also works with Samsung apps that come pre-installed with the device, and if you have been wondering what that looks like, you have come to the right place.
At the last Galaxy Unpacked event, where Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 series, Google revealed that Gemini will now work with four Samsung apps that come pre-loaded on the new lineup of phones: Samsung Calendar, Samsung Clock, Samsung Notes, and Samsung Reminder.
We opened the Gemini app on our Galaxy S25 to check out the new feature and found Extensions for only three of the four apps — Samsung Calendar, Samsung Notes, and Samsung Reminder — that Google talked about, as you can see in the screenshot below. The Extension for the Samsung Clock is missing. Fortunately, Gemini still works with Samsung Clock.
As you can see in the screenshot above, Extensions for the three Samsung apps describe what they can allow Gemini to do for you and what they can’t, and they give you all the basic functionalities. That makes it easier for you to use Samsung’s apps and extract the most out of Gemini. Hopefully, Google and Samsung will update these Extensions in the future to remove their current limitations.
Gemini Extensions for Samsung's stock apps could come to older Galaxy devices with One UI 7
We checked the Gemini app on Galaxy S24 with the beta version of One UI 7 to see if it also offered Extensions for the three Samsung apps, and just as we thought, it does. However, the same wasn’t true on our Galaxy S23 running on One UI 6.1.1. It suggests that Gemini Extension for Samsung apps will come to older Galaxy smartphones with One UI 7.

On a related note, Samsung has made the Galaxy S25 to summon Gemini when you press the power/side button, making it easier to access Google's GenAI assistant.
