Earlier this week, we learned that Samsung will use the silicon-carbon chemistry for the battery of its non-foldable flagship smartphone for 2026, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, to pack it with a capacity between 6,000mAh and 7,000mAh. While it put a huge smile on the faces of Samsung fans, it sounded too good to be true and a new leak suggests that is what it was, too good to be true.
On X, @PandaFlashPro claims that Galaxy S26 Ultra’s battery will definitely not have a capacity between 6,000mAh and 7,000mAh. Instead, its battery will have a maximum/typical capacity of 5,500mAh and a rated capacity of 5,396mAh.
While the news shatters the happiness that the previous leak had given to people, a 5,500mAh battery is a respectable 10% larger than that of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The current model already offers better battery backup than most of its rivals that have a larger battery. It means that the upcoming model with a 10% larger battery pack should help it gain the top position on the chart.

According to previous leaks, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC (most likely the successor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite). Its display will be brighter and more efficient than the one on the current model and it will have an under-display camera too.
